Announcing General Availability of DB PowerStudio (DBPS) version 18.4

We are pleased to announce the general availability of DB PowerStudio version 18.4!

IDERA’s DB PowerStudio provides a powerful cross-platform toolset for database development, tuning and database management.

What’s new in DBPS 18.4

  • Enhanced Security
    • Single Sign-on for Azure AD – DBArtisan and Rapid SQL will now support Single Sign-on for AzureAD on PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQL Server.  These users will save time with one-time login using one set of credentials to access all their data residing on Azure AD. 
    • Native Git Version Control –  DBArtisan and Rapid SQL users will benefit with the added security and history when creating projects, files and code.  This facilitates code development and management to determine why and when changes were made and by whom.
    • Support for PostgreSQL Identity Columns – DBArtisan and Rapid SQL users will now have the ability to automatically assign a unique number to a column.  This allows users to have more granular access and improved security on their columns. 
  • Enhanced Performance from SQL Server 2022 support
    • DBArtisan, Rapid SQL, DB Optimizer and DB Change Manager users can take advantage of S3 retrieval and backup features available in SQL Server 2022.   This enables faster retrieval of all the objects that are S3 compatible, ultimately providing performance gains when querying, updating or removing user data.. 
  • Additional Space, Capacity and Performance Management for PostgreSQL and AzureSQL in DBArtisan
    This provides DBArtisan users the following benefits to proactively manage space, data, and performance with built-in analytics. 

    • Easily find and fix performance issues using intelligent diagnostics. 
    • Move schema and table data across different platforms with ease.
    • Protect data security with view, grant and revoke of permissions. Create complex SQL queries quickly.
  • Improved Change Reporting from updates to Azure SQL feature in DB Change Manager
    • Data compare and migration has been updated to provide our users with the benefits of revealing and reporting changes due to patches or customizations. Database abnormalities can be reviewed before they happen for Azure SQL.
