by Aug 22, 2019

We’re excited to announce the release of SQL Compliance Manager 5.6.1

SQL Compliance Manager is a comprehensive database auditing solution that monitors and tracks changes to SQL Server objects and data, and sends alerts on suspicious activity. SQL Compliance Manager also generates audit reports to demonstrate compliance with regulatory and data security requirements such as SOX, PCI, HIPAA, GDPR, CIS, NERC, DISA/STIG and FERPA.

SQL Compliance Manager 5.6.1

This release was a maintenance release where we focused on fixing some of the bugs in the product.  We also added in the ability to perform a Sensitive Column Search in the Windows Console.

SQL Compliance Manager 5.6.1 Product Updates

Sensitive Column Search

The Sensitive Column Search allows you to scan through your SQL Server Databases to discover PII (Personally Identifiable Information). It comes with predefined templates that you can refine to ensure you are finding the information that you seek.  The Sensitive Column Search has always been available as a free tool and in the Web Console.  In this release of SQL Compliance Manager we have added it to the Windows Console.  With this feature, you can easily add the results to your sensitive column auditing.

Updated DISA/STIG Standards

The DISA/STIG Guidelines for SQL Server auditing was updated late last year after SQL Compliance Manager 5.6 was already in progress.  While SQL Compliance Manager has always supported elements of these guidelines, we have updated the product to indicate which of the aspects of the regulation that the product covers. This brings us up to date with the DISA/STIG standards for SQL Server 2016.
