Best Practice For Prohibiting Uptime From Catching Certain Vms

by Oct 7, 2014

I am new to uptime (great product) and I am trying to narrow down a way to keep uptime from catching our VDI boxes when they spin up. I believe, from reading on the site, that it really comes down to using vCenter monitoring of the ESX hosts that have the VDI to eliminate it. I’m currently just right click, ignoring them as we have vCenter monitoring turned off. Is there a way to keep it from catching child VMs perhaps by title? Something similar to: or perhaps by where the vmdk’s are stored? I’m curious in the event an ESX host has a server (say a print server) and has some VDI’s on it from overflow. How would I keep it from auto discovering the VDI VMs?

Thank you.
