Installation failed: Provider cannot be found error in install log

Receiving the following message when trying to install:

IDERA SQLdm Installation was unsuccessfull.

The %PROGRAMFILES%IderaSQLdm x64 Installation KitInstallSQLDM.log file has the following:

1: Attempting to establish the SQL connection… Server: XXXXXXYYYYYYY, Database:  
MSI (s) (A8!D0) [11:58:43:101]: Product: IDERA SQL Diagnostic Manager (x64) — Error 27502.Could not connect to Microsoft SQL Server 'XXXXXXYYYYYYY'. Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed.

CustomAction ISSQLServerInstall returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)

where XXXXXXYYYYYYY is redacted.

Does anyone know how I can find out what the actual issue is?
