Do you routinely ignore alerts? If you have an email rule that sends alerts to their own folder, that is a hint. If you find that a day passes without opening this folder, that clinches it. Do you ignore some alerts and not others? An effective alert is one that you respond to and avoid a bigger problem like running out of space. A better alert is one that fires and then automatically takes corrective action. The best alert is one that is not fired; this is true proactive management. The worst alert is one that is ignored. These alerts consume resources and waste your valuable time. It takes mental focus and X number of seconds to decide to ignore it.
