SQLdm V9 upgrade warning

by Feb 28, 2015

We are required to generate a new license key when upgrading to SQLdm V9. What the generate key page doesn’t mention is that the key is for the server (instance) that contains the SQLdm Repository. Unfortunately, I generated my new key with the name of the server that runs SQLdm, and the installation stopped with an error. So, I have an invalid key, and there is no provision for me to cancel the existing key and generate a new one. I don’t know what time the licensing folks leave, but they have better hours than my bank. At least it hadn’t reached the point where my V8.6 would no longer be usable.
