Version 7.7 Not responding

We installed 7.7 as an upgrade on our test server, with the test DB, and as soon as it is licensed we stated getting DB locks, and message about the database not responding. We have opened up a ticked with support but wanted to check and see if anyone else had come accross the issue or something similar. We are using MS SQL Server, 2008r2 on the live server and 2012 r2 on the test server. The server OS is 2008 r2 on both. We had the same issue back in January when we tried to go to 7.6, and had to revert back. At that time it also happened with just a empty db.
