Last night we migrated another server to our VMware environment. This morning I have two instances of this server in UpTime. One is the old physical server and the other was auto-discovered by UpTime as a discovered virtual machine. I am glad that UpTime now recognizes the new server as a virtual. I am also glad that UpTime did not automatically delete the physical instance of that server. My question is, what is best practice in UpTime when doing a P2V migration? I realize that I can just delete the physical instance and all will be fine. However I really would like to keep the history of the physical so I can compare its historical performance to the new virtual machine. Is there a way to merge the two instances together?
