I have backed up my Azure SQL Database to a local file ***.bkp. Is it the case that the only restore option I have is to restore the database to an Azure SQL Database? I’m a bit wary that MS might change their configuration of Azure SQL Databases and then for some reason the backup cannot be restored. I would be happier if I could be sure that the backup could be restored elsewhere instead. Thanks.
ModeratorYou should be able to restore a backup to an on-premise instance of SQL Server through the tool. You’ll need to register the server using SQL authentication, and then choose to restore the file stored locally.
Thanks!
