Announcing The General Availability of DB PowerStudio version 18.1

What’s new in DB PowerStudio 18.1

This release includes the following enhancements to the product:

Upgraded Platform Support for DBArtisan and Rapid SQL

  1. Upgraded support for PostgreSQL from version 12.0 to 13.0 for DBArtisan and Rapid SQL. 

Our customers who use large databases will benefit by this version of PostgreSQL because it includes significant improvements to its indexing and lookup system.  DBArtisan passes along the performance gains for indexes, faster response times for queries that use aggregates or partitions for these large databases.

  1. Upgraded support for Oracle from version 19.0 to 21C. 

This release of DBArtisan allows users to see the blockchain tables in its tree view. Blockchain tables are append-only tables in which only insert operations are allowed. Deleting rows is either prohibited or restricted based on time so being able to see these and retrieve them right off the tree is an advantage to the customer. This release also takes advantage of the new Persistence Memory for Exadata (PMEM) file systems that offer significant latency and bandwidth improvements over traditional file systems that use SSD or spinning disks.

  1. For our customers who have ER/Studio already installed, DBArtisan and Rapid SQL will recognize this installation and launch ER/Studio right from within the DBArtisan and Rapid SQL user interfaces for convenience.
