by Oct 3, 2022

We are pleased to announce the general availability of SQL Diagnostic Manager 12.0. Existing users may upgrade to this version through the Idera Customer Portal. New users may download the trial version from the Idera Website

What’s New in Diagnostic Manager 12.0?

This release of SQL Diagnostic Manager brings a new optional scale-out architecture that allows one Windows Console to connect to multiple SQL DM installations to view and manage them from a single interface as though it was a single installation.  The new architecture has been tested monitoring 2000 instances across four installations, but is also useful for customers who choose distributed installations for reasons other than just scale. For distributed environments, the SQL DM 12.0 architecture greatly decreases the volume of data which must transit remote leased and public lines because much of the monitoring communication occurs locally at the remote clusters.

The implementation spans all SQL DM features including:

  • User Views
  • Tags
  • Import and Export
  • Application Security (Instance Level Security)
  • VM Configuration and Mapping
  • Custom Counters
  • Alert Templates (editing and applying them across instances)
  • Alert Actions and Responses
  • Reports
  • Azure Profiles
  • Grooming
  • Manage License
  • Prescriptive Analysis

SQL DM 12.0 will also include the ability to designate a different Windows account for SQL Server collections than the current Windows account per instance monitored, supporting monitoring across untrusted domains.  This capability is important for multinational companies with hardened security requirements.
