SQL Elements 1.1 is now available

by Apr 15, 2014

We are happy to announce the general availability of SQL Elements 1.1. Existing users may upgrade to the latest version  through the Idera Customer Portal. New users may download the trial from the Idera website. This release includes the following new features:

Enhanced Discovery
This release features enhanced server discovery methods, accessible in the Administration view under “Manage Discovery Options.” You can now schedule both browser service and computer scans to recur daily or on particular days of the week, and you may specify the time. You may add IP ranges and domains to include for scanning and specify the ports and discovery methods you wish to use. This should provide much enhanced discovery in larger and more complex environments.

New Auto Registration Options
Under “Auto Registration Options” in the Administration view you can now specify SQL Server editions that should be excluded from auto-registration.

Data Export
Throughout the product you will find new export links which will allow you to export recommendations and other data in PDF, XLS, and XML formats.

Server List Import
You may now import a CSV of server names into the product for registration.

SQL Licensing View
In the Instances view you will now find a SQL Licensing tab which shows many of the fields necessary to calculate SQL Server license requirements.

Instance View Filtering
The popular filtering mechanism from the Explore view has now been added to the Instances view as well.

Miscellaneous
A number of bug fixes, small feature requests, and enhancements beyond those listed above have been included, including additional pieces of information shown on the Server Details screens and enhanced ability to bulk edit servers in the Instances view.

You can view the full release notes for the release in the product documentation here. You can review the fixed bugs here and take a look at the known issues for 1.1 here.
